Woman arrested for shooting off gun during quarrel in Burlington

A woman from Burlington has been arrested after she allegedly punctuated an argument with a handgun.

Ericka Latiesha Graves reportedly fired the 9-mm while she and another woman were quarrelling on Friday afternoon within a block of Graves’ own home at 2109 Peace Lane.

According to the city’s police department, officers found no one injured when they arrived at the scene shortly after 5:00 p.m. They nevertheless took Graves into custody on the felony-level charge of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill.

The 28-year-old black female also faces misdemeanor-level violations for assault by pointing a gun, discharging a firearm within Burlington’s municipal limits, and possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, e.g. marijuana.

Graves has been incarcerated without bond since her arrest.
