Despite the provocatively concealed signs, there’s really no “McMystery” about what’s coming together at the southwest corner of North Church Street and Graham-Hopedale Road.
According to county tax records, the McDonald’s restaurant chain purchased the corner lot in April, clearing the way for the demolition of an old tire store that once occupied the site adjacent to its long-time location. McDonald’s previously had an eatery squeezed in next to the tire store along Graham-Hopedale Road.
Earlier this spring, the city of Burlington issued a permit that allows the restaurateur to demolish its old restaurant and construct a new one on the now-expanded property it owns up to the corner.
