Police in Burlington have arrested a 23-year-old man for a hit-and-run accident that left a 10-year-old child seriously injured.
Cody Lee Struck of Burlington was ultimately taken into custody shortly after the accident, which occurred at about 9:00 p.m. on Sunday along the 200 block of Joy Drive.
According to the city’s police department, Struck was impaired when he collided with a 10-year-old child, who then was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment. Although the 23-year-old suspect fled the scene of the accident, he was later tracked down and arrested for DWI and felony-level hit-and-run.
Struck has been placed under a $25,000 bond since his arrest.
