Outgoing county commissioner bid adieu by his colleagues

Outgoing county commissioner Bill Lashley accepted a commemorative plaque from his colleagues as he prepared to step down from the dais on Monday.

The son and namesake of a long-time county commissioner, Lashley was elected to the county’s governing board mere weeks before his father’s death in the fall of 2020.

The younger Lashley opted not to run for a second term when his seat came back up for a vote in this year’s general election.
