Burlington Christian Academy’s baseball roster has four players who arrived as transfers from The Burlington School.

Coach Justin Brown said it’s a highly anticipated season for BCA, which lost only two seniors from last year’s 17-6-1 team. The Royals begin the season Tuesday at Northwest Guilford.

The former TBS players enrolled last summer at BCA. They are senior pitcher Will Grubb, senior catcher Davis Phillips, senior catcher/infielder Gib Wirt and junior pitcher/shortstop Cooper Kelly.

Also, sophomore outfielder/pitcher Kaden Parker left TBS and is at Southern Alamance.

TBS was without a coach following last season when Chad Holland, who began the program, stepped down. Late in the summer, Zac MacAneney was hired to fill the position.

Robertson at Southeast

Longtime area baseball coach Reggie Robertson has joined the staff at Southeast Alamance under coach Adam Gunn.

Robertson had followed former Williams coach Jason Knapp to Orange as an assistant coach, but by summer had stepped away from that position after six seasons. It didn’t take him long to latch on with another team.

In addition to a role at Williams, Robertson had assisted with the now-defunct Burlington-Graham Post 63 baseball program on the American Legion level.
