
Mr. Gregg Carleton Lee 79, of Burlington passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, April 1st, 2025.
A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., he was the husband of 51 years to the late Diana Lewis Lee, and the son of Cornelious Guy Lee and Elizabeth Carleton Lee both deceased. Mr. Lee held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon College and a Master’s degree in Education from UNC-Greensboro. Gregg spent 22 years as the Purchasing Director for Carolina Biological Supply Company and over 15 years as a middle and high school teacher in the Alamance/Burlington School System. He retired in 2016 from Walter M. Williams High School as the head of the history department. Gregg was active in various organizations serving on committees and boards most notably at the Alamance Historical Art Museum, previous Board of Trustee for Alamance Community College, and various projects and partnerships through his church. Gregg was a 55+ year member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter where he served the church as Junior and Senior Warden.
Survivors include two sons, Geoffrey Carleton Lee and wife Jeana Byrd Lee of Matthews and Patrick Alford Lee and wife Dawn Susan Lee of Gibsonville; three grandchildren, Alexander Thomas Lee, Caroline Elizabeth Lee, and Davis Blair Lee; and sisters, Martha Ann Samuels, Harper Lee Park and husband David B. Park, and Patricia Lee White.
A memorial service will be conducted at The Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 11 a.m. by Reverend Doctor Rhonda M. Lee. Internment will immediately follow the service in the Memorial Garden at the church followed by a reception in the Great Hall.
