Graham’s Parsons could be leaving city council sooner than election

Graham city councilman publicly notified fellow councilmen of what many had known for a few months.

Councilman Joey Parsons used his turn during the “council comments” portion at the end of Tuesday night’s meeting to say he has now listed his house in Graham for sale.

When it sells, Parsons said he will move to another property that is outside Graham’s city limits, which would then require his resignation from the council.

Parsons had previously told The Alamance News that he did not intend to see re-election this November.  Parsons was first elected to his four-year term in 2021.

The other city councilman on the ballot this year will be Bobby Chin, also first elected in 2021.  Chin has told The Alamance News he does intend to run for re-election.

Also on the ballot, presuming she seeks re-election, is mayor Jennifer Talley.
