An area man faces several narcotics-related charges after the local sheriff’s office conducted a drug raid on a home within Graham’s municipal limits.
Antonio Onofrio Wakefield was taken into custody on Monday based on evidence that the office of Alamance County’s sheriff reportedly seized in this operation along the 200 block of West Parker Street.
According to court records, deputies emerged from this raid with 24.22 grams of methamphetamine, unspecified quantities of fentanyl and Xanax, and drug paraphernalia that consisted of “plastic baggies” and a “black tray.”
In light of these discoveries, the sheriff’s office has charged Wakefield with felony-level charges for the alleged possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell or deliver the drug, the possession of meth within 1,000 feet of Lawson’s preschool, and the possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. Wakefield also faces misdemeanors for the simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and the possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to these narcotics-related offenses, Wakefield faces an additional felony for the alleged possession of a firearm by a previously convicted felon. He has been placed under a combined bond of $50,000 since his arrest.
A 40-year-old white male of 211 West Parker Street, Wakefield currently has two other drug-related felony cases wending their way through Alamance County’s courts. Both of these pending cases date from the current calendar year.
