Elon puts its undefeated record in women’s soccer on the line Thursday night against visiting North Carolina State at Rudd Field.
The Phoenix (4-0-1) recorded a 1-0 victory at High Point on Jess Beck’s second-half goal Sunday. Katie Bisgrove made seven saves for the shutout as Elon won at High Point for the first time since 2000 after seven straight losses or ties.
N.C. State (0-5-1) holds a 16-0 series lead, including seven road triumphs, on Elon.
Men’s soccer
Elon won 2-0 at Radford on Tuesday night on goals by Carlos Levy and Sumner Nenninger.
The Phoenix was coming off Saturday night’s 2-1 victory at UNC Wilmington in a Coastal Athletic Association opener on goals by Einar Ness and Dominik Renz.
Elon (2-0-1, 1-0 CAA) plays its CAA home opener at noon Saturday vs. College of Charleston.
Volleyball
Elon dropped to 0-3 with Tuesday night’s 25-22, 25-23, 25-20 loss at Appalachian State.
Elon opened the season with home losses Friday to Coppin State in four sets and Saturday to Bethune-Cookman in five sets.
Cross country
Elon’s women took first place in Friday night’s Elon Open on campus with Abby Beville first individually in 13 minutes 36.6 seconds for 4 kilometers. There were 107 runners. Elon won among 11 complete teams, with Davidson the runner-up and East Carolina in third.
High Point won the men’s team competition, with Elon in sixth.
