Mebane mayor Ed Hooks (pictured second from the left, below, with the ceremonial scissors) helps to cut the ribbon on Friday, October 31 for the official grand opening of Carolina Achieve, a new charter school located at 6920 West Ten Road in Mebane.

The fifth charter school serving students in Alamance County, Carolina Achieve will serve students in kindergarten through second grade for the current school year, but plans to add additional grades for each successive year of operation.
Carolina Achieve had enrolled 119 students as of last month, or about 28 fewer students than the number projected for 2025-26, according to the state’s Charter Schools Review Board.
