Eastern Alamance and undefeated Southeast Alamance are lined up for their softball showdown in Friday night’s regular-season finale at Southeast.
Paisley Whitfield homered and Abigail Johnson and Jakiree Williams both scored three runs when Eastern notched a 20-0 road victory Friday against Williams.
The Eagles (17-4 overall, 12-1 Mid-Carolina Conference) won 16-1 at Graham on Tuesday with Rachel Byrd and Addison Hester each scoring two runs.
Eastern’s only conference loss came by 6-5 to Southeast last month.
- Ashtyn Smith had a double and three runs batted in when Southeast won 5-3 last week at Chatham Central in non-league play.
The Stallions then defeated host Graham 16-0 in three innings Friday with Tatum Shelton scoring three runs.
Southeast (20-0, 13-0) received two doubles from Gracyn Lee and four runs scored by Katie Lloyd in Tuesday’s 12-2 victory at Roxboro Person.
- Southern Alamance has cranked out a five-game winning streak after drubbing visiting Cummings 25-1 on Tuesday.
Last week’s victories included 23-8 vs. Northern Guilford, 9-8 in eight innings vs. Orange, and 15-5 in conference play vs. Roxboro Person.
- Avery Martin and Ashlyn Petty both drove in three runs when Western blanked visiting Cum-mings 15-0 in 2 ½ innings Friday.
On Tuesday, the Warriors blanked visiting Williams 15-0 in three innings with a home run from Skylar Martin and three runs scored by Camryn Rodrigues.
- Williams overwhelmed visiting Cummings 28-10 in three innings last week with Aaliyah Fields scoring four runs.
- After 16 consecutive victories, Clover Garden suffered its first loss with last week’s 11-1 non-conference setback at Randleman.
The Grizzlies bounced back the next night to defeat visiting Cornerstone Charter 16-4 with Gracie Hensley driving in three runs and Jersey Foster, Cadence Collins, and Chloe Welch all knocking in two runs.
On Monday, Clover Garden hammered visiting Chatham Charter 15-8 with Sydnee Summers scoring three runs and Elizabeth Wilson driving in three runs.
- River Mill won consecutive games last week, winning 7-6 at Cornerstone Charter with Emma Honeycutt hitting a key triple and drubbing visiting Central Carolina Academy 16-6 with Ella Hadley and Olivia Vinsant both scoring three runs. The Jaguars lost 12-2 at Chatham Charter on Tuesday.
