Mehanga R Bassi, age 74, of Burlington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Moses Cone Hospital on Saturday, May 2, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Punjab, India, he was the son of the late Gulzara Ram and Prakash Kaur. Mehanga was a hardworking and dedicated individual who took great pride in being the owner and operator of B Mart and Grill in Graham since 2000. Through his work, he built not only a business but lasting relationships within the community.
He will be remembered for his strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Mehanga is lovingly survived by his wife, Gurdev Kaur Bassi; his children, Ranjna Singh (Amarjot Singh), Meena Bassi (Ajay Leel), and Surinder Singh Bassi; his cherished grandchildren, Kabir Singh, Yashica Singh, Priya Singh, Riddhica Leel, and Aarav Leel; and his brothers, Surjit Singh, Kewal Singh, and Avatar Singh.
A funeral service will be held at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham, North Carolina, on 6th May 2026, at 11a.m.
