Macie W. Riley, born December 26, 1933, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2026, at 92 years of age. Macie was born in Burlington, NC to Nancy Hinshaw Wicker and William Z Wicker, both deceased.
Macie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Harold A Riley. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Eric and Rhonda Riley, Sonya and Ray DeBruler, and Amy and Bryan Clayton; and by her grandchildren Ashley (Sam) Boushie, Jessica DeBruler (Chris Rumley), Brittany (David) Goldstein, Grant (Andraya) DeBruler, Rachael Bryant, Savannah (Kyle) Dennison, Sydney and Cameron Clayton, and several nieces. Macie had seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her faithful companion Ryder.
Macie was a member of Lakeview Community Church. She lived life to the fullest when she was able. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, and belly dancing. She had a beautiful smile and was so petite, people were just drawn to her and always said how sweet she was.
The family would like to thank At Eaze Home Health Care, especially Joan and Star who took compassionate care of mom and her home. Also, the family is thankful for Via Health Partners Hospice.
Friends are invited to visit the family to celebrate Macie’s life on Sunday, March 31, from 2-5 at the shop of Sonya and Ray DeBruler at 3819 Union Ridge Road, Burlington and other times at the home, 3859 Union Ridge Rd, Burlington.
