Alamance Community College’s trustees bid farewell earlier this month to retiring associate vice president of Administrative Services and Facilities Tom Hartman. He had shepherded more than $95 million in capital projects – including $39.6 million in bond projects that voters approved for ACC in 2018 and numerous ongoing building renovations – to completion during his eight-year tenure with ACC.
Hartman most recently oversaw the construction of ACC’s $24 million Public Safety Training Center in Green Level, which opened for students last August.
Last Monday, retiring U.S. Senator Thom Tillis toured ACC’s Public Safety Training Center, for which he and U.S. Senator Ted Budd and Congressman Richard Hudson had secured $5.7 million in federal funding several years ago.
Hartman’s retirement takes effect at the end of this month.
