George Truitt Nall was recently given the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest civilian honor bestowed by the governor of North Carolina.
There were some 100 guests in attendance, including state representatives, county officials, county school superintendent, and other local dignitaries, along with friends, family, and George’s colleagues. The special ceremony and reception was held at The Chairman’s Retreat in the Textile Heritage Museum at Historic Glencoe Mill Village.
Nall will be 95 years old on Saturday, September 19.
