Southeast Alamance, Southern Alamance and Western Alamance remained undefeated through three weeks of the high school football season.
Here’s a check on the results from Friday night (plus one from Thursday):
- Southeast Alamance 42, Eastern Guilford 7: At Gibsonville, the Stallions went on the road for the first time this season and rolled.
Southeast is 3-0. Eastern Guilford dropped to 0-2.
- Southern Alamance 63, Southeast Guilford 31: At Mt. Hermon, Sincere Thompson had four long touchdown runs in the 18 minutes of the game and posted five touchdowns along with 365 rushing yards.
Jayden Brown scored on a kickoff return and interception return and Tustin Johnson threw two touchdown passes to Andrick Pulliam.
Southern (3-0) led 20-17 before pouring on 36 unanswered points in less than 11 minutes for a comfortable halftime lead.
Thompson racked up his numbers on 13 carries. He scored on runs of 72, 69, 65, 76, and 7 yards and tacked on a two-point conversion run.
Brown’s kickoff return went for 95 yards and the pick-off return was 42 yards. Johnson’s TD tosses to Pulliam covered 24 and 23 yards and came in less than an 80-second span.
There was a lengthy lightning-related delay. Southeast Guilford fell to 1-2.
- Eastern Alamance 61, Central Davidson 22: At Mebane, Sammy Raphael’s late kickoff return for a touchdown capped a five-touchdown performance as the host Eagles defeated Central Davidson for the second year in a row.
Raphael rushed for four touchdowns. Dereon Garner added two touchdown runs and Jusiah Goldston scored on a run and a reception, which came on Braxton Ballard’s pass, for the Eagles (2-1).
Central Davidson is 1-2.
- Eden Morehead 19, Cummings 16: At Eden, Cummings remained winless through three games as the host Panthers rallied.
Eden Morehead (1-2) scored 13 fourth-quarter points for the only scoring of the second half.
- Western Alamance 19, Rockingham County 7: Thursday night at Wentworth, Colten Hill returned an interception 90 yards for a touchdown and the Warriors were successful in their first road game of the season.
Western (3-0) scored on offense on Ethan Locke’s 40-yard reception from Grayson Smith. Brooks Miciotto kicked field goals from 25 and 30 yards out.
Running back Christian Payton gained 106 rushing yards on 21 carries for Western.
Rockingham County (1-2) lost its second game in a row.
