Baseball 2-A & 4-A high school state championships this weekend in Burlington

The North Carolina High School Athletic Association baseball state championships in Class 2-A and Class 4-A will be decided this weekend at Burlington Athletic Stadium.

There are best-of-3 series for each classification.

In Class 2-A, Burns meets Greene Central at 5:00 p.m. Friday and again at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. If necessary, a third game is set for 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

In Class 4-A, it’s Asheville Roberson vs. Wilmington Ashley at 8:00 p.m. Friday and 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Game 3, if necessary, is at 8 :00 p.m. Saturday (or 5:00 p.m. if there’s no Game 3 in Class 2-A).

The Class 3-A (East Rowan vs. South Central) and Class 1-A (Northside-Pinetown vs. Uwharrie Charter Academy) title series will be held at Ting Stadium in Holly Springs.

  • In softball, the best-of-3 finals Friday and Saturday are at UNC Greensboro for Class 4-A (Garner vs. Weddington) and Class 2-A (Midway vs. Southwestern Randolph).

At Duke, titles will be determined in Class 3-A (Kings Mountain vs. South Brunswick) and Class 1-A (East Wilkes vs. Northside-Pinetown).
