A modern, up-to-date bookmobile – one that library officials prefer to call a mobile library – will launch on Friday.
A kick-off celebration will be held at the Fairchild Community Center, 827 South /Graham-Hopedale Road in Burlington from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The newly-outfitted mobile unit will provide full library services, including signing up for a library card (free to anyone who lives or works in Alamance County), checking out materials,
placing and picking up holds, using computers and even attending programs at select stops, according to library officials.
The vehicle is also handicapped accessible, with a lift in the back for wheelchairs.
