One area resident appears to have committed the criminal’s proverbial no-no when he allegedly returned to the scene of a vehicular break-in in order to steal a go-cart out of the victim’s garage.
Jesse Lee Evans was identified as the culprit in both of these crimes after a surveillance camera reportedly caught him breaking into the garage along the 3000 block of Wormranch Road on January 17.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, Evans had forced his way into the garage just eight days after he allegedly broke into a Jeep Wrangler parked outside the same residence. The 43-year-old white male of 861 Grey Fox Trail, Graham, had allegedly made off with a laptop, an iPad, Beats headphones, and an air compressor during this earlier break-in.

Thanks to his subsequent appearance on the victim’s security camera, Evans was taken into custody on January 18 and charged with felony-level offenses for breaking-and-entering, breaking into a motor vehicle, two counts of larceny, and obtaining property by false pretense. He also faces one misdemeanor charge for the possession of drug paraphernalia.
Evans has been placed under a $30,000 bond since his arrest.
