Police in Burlington are on the lookout for a man who allegedly flashed to a woman outside a local shopping center on Sunday.
According to the city’s police department, Robert Lloyd May exposed himself to the woman in the parking lot of the Walmart supercenter along Graham-Hopedale Road. The 36-year-old white male allegedly pursued his victim in this ithyphallic condition until he realized she was calling 9-1-1, at which point he apparently turned tail and ran back to his truck.
May reportedly backed his truck into the victim’s own vehicle in his haste to vacate the scene. He is consequently wanted for damage to personal property, reckless driving, and assault with a deadly weapon in addition to the charge of indecent exposure.
According to the police department, Sunday’s incident isn’t the first time May has exposed himself to an unsuspecting victim in Burlington. In fact, he was arrested for a similar offense outside the same Walmart supercenter in 2022 and is now listed in the national sex offender registry as a “lifetime” offender.
The city’s police department describes May as a white male with hazel eyes and light, reddish-brown hair who stands roughly 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He reportedly drives a dark-colored Chevy Colorado pickup of 2005 vintage.
Police urge anyone who knows May’s whereabouts to contact the department at 336-229-3500 or call Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100 to leave an anonymous tip.
