Charles Benjamin Clark passed peacefully from the arms of his loving wife into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 26, 2024.
He was 80 years of age and married to Leslie Trinite Clark for 44 years. Charlie was born and raised in Haw River, North Carolina. He was a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute and enjoyed a successful career as an advertising art director.
Always the animal lover, Charlie was devoted to Plato and Portia (doggies) and Gus (alley cat). Despite his nickname “El Klumo”, he once pitched a no hitter for his high school baseball team, the Haw River Indians. He was a key player for the South at the annual West Franklin Street July 4th volleyball match and was honored to play for the infamous Geezers and Bunkie Trinite Trophies softball teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents Murphy Haskins and Lillian Foster Clark and siblings Jean Durham, Barbara Boggs, Larry Haskins, and Randell Ray.
Left to cherish his kindness and gentle nature are his brothers Daniel Francis (Charlotte), Darryl Holmes (Annette), sister Letha Annette Bridges (Robert), and a host of nieces, nephews and loyal friends.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, January 4, at Bliley’s on Augusta Ave. with a viewing at 10AM and celebration of life at 11AM. Interment to follow at 2 PM at Westhampton Memorial Park.
