The local sheriff’s office has arrested a Burlington resident for thefts from construction sites after a search of his home reportedly turned up thousands of dollars in stolen tools and supplies.
Jerry Lynn Coleman has since been charged with nine felony counts for his alleged larcenies – which include the theft of construction supplies from Kernodle Landing, a subdivision off of Gerringer Mill Road.

According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, the 40-year-old white male was identified as a suspect in the Kernodle Landing thefts shortly after the crimes were reported on May 17.
The sheriff’s office went on to obtain a warrant to search Coleman’s home at 1071 South Riverview Drive in Burlington. During the search, deputies reportedly found about $6,000 in construction supplies and equipment that had been stolen from several locations in northern Alamance County.
According to the sheriff’s office, Coleman faces three felony counts, each, of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, and possession of stolen property. He has been placed under a $90,000 bond since his arrest.
