Local sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 68-year-old woman for a string of purchases she allegedly made with a debit card that was reported stolen in April.
According to the office of Alamance County’s sheriff, Patricia Ann Leath was ultimately identified as the culprit in this case based on security footage from some of the stores where the pilfered debit card had been swiped.
The 68-year-old black female of 2422 Pine Brook Drive in Burlington has consequently been charged with felony-level identify theft and financial card theft as well as three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense. Leath has been placed under a $10,000 bond.
