A check on a man near Swepsonville ultimately resulted in his arrest for two outstanding warrants in Guilford County and various drug charges.
Last Wednesday, February 9, deputies observed an unconscious man in a vehicle near the 2200 block of Swepsonville Road south of Graham. Deputies initiated a check on his wellbeing, only to discover, once his identity was known, that he had two outstanding warrants in Guilford County.
Joshua Lee Gilbert, white, male, 37, of 2211 Swepsonville Road, Graham, was placed under arrest. It was also determined that Gilbert had 4.59 grams of marijuana and needles on him. That prompted a search of his vehicle which revealed .52 grams of fentanyl and .59 grams of methamphetamine. Deputies also found a Ford catalytic converter in the trunk of the vehicle.

Gilbert was taken to the jail where he was served with the outstanding warrants and charged with: felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance; misdemeanor possession of schedule VI controlled substance; one count of possession of marijuana paraphernalia; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $23,500 secured.
