Alamance County’s sheriff Terry Johnson bestows a departmental lifesaving award on sergeant Leon Staten and deputy Walter Adams during a county commissioner meeting Monday morning.
The pair received this signal honor both for providing first aid to a stroke victim who collapsed while cooking and for averting a kitchen fire that was about to burst out from her stove.
