Eastern Alamance avenged its only Central 3-A Conference softball loss of the season by defeating visiting Western Alamance 6-4 in Tuesday night’s rematch from last week.
Eastern pitcher Delani Straughan held Western scoreless through five innings as the Eagles built a 6-0 lead.
Kayden Manning had a home run and Kinley Henderson provided two hits for Eastern (13-5 overall, 8-1 Central 3-A Conference), which has won seven of its last eight games.
Depending on other results, the Eagles could clinch at least a share of the conference title Friday night at home against last-place Williams.
Ryan Justice and Camryn Rodrigues both had two hits for Western (9-7, 6-3). The outcome snapped the Warriors’ four-game winning streak.
Western pinned a 6-5 loss on the Eagles by scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh inning on Bayleigh Burris’ two-run, inside-the-park home run last Friday night at home.
Kyndal Wilborn also knocked in two runs for Western. Justice scored twice and Addison Beal was the winning pitcher. Olivia Foster homered for Eastern.
- Southern Alamance won 18-1 in a Central 3-A Conference road game against Williams last week to snap a three-game losing streak.
- Katie Lloyd drove in five runs when Southeast Alamance defeated visiting Bartlett Yancey 17-2 in three innings last week.
In their next Mid-Carolina Conference game, the Stallions lost 10-7 at North Moore on Friday.
- Graham collected its second victory by winning Friday’s home game against Greater Vision Academy by 8-7.
