Categories:

A 94-year-old woman has died after being struck by two hit-and-run drivers who reportedly plowed through an intersection in Burlington on the afternoon of Palm Sunday.

According to the city’s police department, Ethel Murray passed away Tuesday from the injuries she received in the successive collisions, which occurred as she made her way across the intersection of Lakeside Avenue and Sharpe Road on the afternoon of Sunday, April 10.

Witnesses to the accident later told the city’s police officers that the two vehicles which struck Murray were both driven by Hispanic males. The first suspect was reportedly driving a late model gray Honda Civic with a lowered body, tinted windows, and a “loud exhaust” system. The other vehicle has been described as an older, black Mitsubishi Lancer that boasted a red rear spoiler.

Police urge anyone with information relevant to this case to contact the department at 336-229-3500 or call Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100.
