Sheriff asking for public’s help in tracking down local contractor who allegedly took payment for work he didn’t finish

The Alamance County sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s helping in tracking down a Haw River man sought by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Burlington police department and Person County sheriff’s office, for allegedly obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of stolen goods.

Todd Leanders Clark of 2000 Paisley Drive, Lot 118, Haw River, is reportedly the owner of TC Builders. He has allegedly accepted payment for home repairs from victims in and around Alamance County but never returned to complete the work, according to the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office has charged Clark with two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, allegedly totaling $23,000 from Alamance County victims, the Alamance County sheriff’s office announced this week.

Several victims have filed civil processes that remain outstanding due to Clark’s unknown whereabouts, according to the sheriff’s office, which didn’t specify a timeframe for his alleged crimes.
