Elon will play only one home game across the first month of the men’s basketball season, based on a full schedule released Wednesday.
The 2024-25 schedule will include a visit to coach Billy Taylor’s alma mater, Notre Dame, and three games at the famed Palestra in Philadelphia.
So seven of the first eight games will be away from home. The exception is the second game of the season November 9 against Bluefield, an NAIA program.
Two of Elon’s five non-conference home games are set against non-Division opponents. The other comes vs. Division III Lynchburg.
Elon’s season begins November 4 at North Carolina in a matchup previously announced by the Tar Heels.
The Phoenix, which was 13-19 last season, has road games against Gardner-Webb (November 16), Northern Illinois (November 20), and Notre Dame (November 22).
Then it’s off to the Cathedral Classic Invitational from November 29-December 1 in Philadelphia, where the Phoenix will meet Maine, Navy, and host Pennsylvania.
Four of the last five non-conference games will be at Schar Center. Those are against Wofford (December 7), Lynchburg (December 14), UNC Greensboro (December 21), and Marshall (December 28) sandwiched around a trip to East Tennessee State (December 18).
Elon’s 18-game Coastal Athletic Association schedule begins January 2 at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro with the CAA home opener two nights later against Hampton.
The Phoenix finishes the regular season March 1 at Stony Brook prior to the CAA Tournament in Washington.
