Western Alamance and Williams have gotten off to solid starts to the season in boys’ soccer with success in a variety of non-conference games.
Western won five of its first six games, including consecutive shutouts of Southeast Alamance, Carrboro, Seaforth, and Eastern Guilford.
Noah Barrett scored three goals in Tuesday night’s 9-0 romp at Eastern Guilford, while Konner Johnson and Dominic McNerney both had two goals.
Luis Guerrero and McNerney had the goals in a 2-0 decision last week at Seaforth.
- Williams has a five-game unbeaten string after defeating visiting Northern Durham 8-0 on Tuesday night. Cole Brinskelle, Lucas Stroud, and Aurelio Figueroa all had two goals, while Brinskelle also posted two assists.
Last week in a 2-0 victory against visiting Southeast Alamance, Daniel Angel and Stroud had the Williams goals.
With four consecutive victories, the Bulldogs’ record improved to 5-1-1.
- Graham has won two games in a row after blitzing host Eastern Alamance 9-0 on Tuesday. That followed the Red Devils’ 9-1 trouncing of visiting Eastern Randolph last week.
- The Burlington School has rattled off six consecutive victories, capped by Tuesday’s 7-1 victory against visiting Carolina Friends.
Last week, the Spartans controlled Burlington Christian Academy for a 4-0 victory as Sebastian Urgiles tallied three goals and Jonathan Carew had the other goal.
