The town of Elon has some new faces in some of the municipality’s top spots, but they’re old hands when it comes to experience.
Among changes within the town’s staff are a new fire chief, Landon Massey. Massey spent the last 16 years with the E.M. Holt Fire Department where he was most recently deputy chief of operations and training.

Massey is also a long-time fire instructor for Alamance Community College.
Serving as the town’s new planner is Lori Oakley.
Oakley brings 25 years planning experience to Elon including time spent in municipal, county and private planning positions.

Her most recent assignment had been as the planner for Person County for five years.
Oakley, who lives in Mebane, was also a member of that city’s planning board until earlier this year when she resigned.
Meanwhile, the town also has a new attorney, Bob Hagemann of the Poynter Spruill law firm. Hagemann spent 24 years in the Charlotte city attorney’s office, including 7 years

as the Charlotte city attorney. He began his Elon duties last month.
