First of two new Bowman Road subdivisions now underway

Grading and infrastructure work has begun on Bowman Village, one of two related subdivisions on each side of Bowman Road in the portion of Mebane located in western Orange County.

The council was narrowly divided, approving the plans 3-2, with then-mayor Glendel Stephenson casting the tie-breaking vote in June 2019. There will be 49 single-family homes on the north side of the road (in photograph), and another 128 single-family homes in Bowman Place on the south side of the road.

This is the proposed layout of the two subdivisions, Bowman Village, 49 homes (shown on the left of the layout/north side of the road), and Bowman Place, with 128 homes (to the right of the illustration, the south side of the road).
