A drug raid in Burlington has led to the arrests of seven individuals for a hodgepodge of narcotics-related offenses.
According to Burlington’s police department, these seven suspects were taken into custody when officers conducted a search of 2228 Lacy Street on Friday based on suspicions that drugs were being processed or sold at this address.
Among those arrested during the raid was Joseph Gordon Coffman, a 66-year-old white male who resides at the alleged Lacy Street drug den. In addition to the misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, Coffman has been charged with another misdemeanor for maintaining a dwelling for the sale, manufacture, or distribution of a controlled substance. Coffman’s bond has been set at $5,000, secured.
Another charge for maintaining the Lacy Street dwelling has been filed against Robert Allen Hatchel. A 50-year-old male of unspecified race, Hatchel is listed in court records as residing at 333 East Davis Street in Burlington. In addition to misdemeanors for “maintaining a dwelling” and the possession of drug paraphernalia, Hatchel also faces felonies charges for the possession of fentanyl; the possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with the intent to sell or deliver the drug; and the manufacture, sale, or delivery of illegal drugs within 1,000 feet of a school – which court records identify as Headstart Junction.
The proximity of Headstart Junction to the location of Friday’s raid has resulted in the same felony charge against 53-year-old Richard Durwin Gaddy, Jr.; 40-year-old Kelly Eugene Hoggard; 32-year-old Guillermo Reyes-Martinez; and 47-year-old Christie Lynn Sharpe.
A male of unspecified race from 110 Park Avenue in Sanford, Reyes-Martinez faces an additional misdemeanor charge for the simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance. He has been placed under a $10,000 secured bond.
Gaddy, a white male of 5815 Kimesville Road, in Liberty, has been charged with the misdemeanor possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. His bond is set at $25,000, secured.
Hoggard, a white male who hails from the same Kimesville Road address, faces felony charges for fentanyl possession and obstructing justice – the latter for allegedly trying to flush narcotics down the toilet when officers showed up unannounced. Burlington’s police department has also charged Hoggard with a misdemeanor for resisting an officer. His bond has been set at $35,000, secured.
Sharpe, a white female who shares Gaddy and Hoggard’s address, is accused of felony-level methamphetamine possession and the misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She has been placed under a $25,000 secured bond.
The seventh suspect in Friday’s drug raid is Misty Dawn Eastwood, a 40-year-old white female from the same Kimesville Road address. Eastwood faces two counts for the misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond has been set at $5,000.
