Things have really begun to heat up near the interstate interchange for Maple Avenue, where work is now underway on Burlington’s newest Starbucks location.
Situated at 2555 Maple Avenue, this new, drive-thru-equipped coffeehouse will join several other businesses that have recently sprung up on the south side of Maple Avenue’s interchange. Among the latest arrivals to this increasingly popular area are a 7-Eleven at the northwest corner of Maple Avenue and Hanford Road (which is opening today) as well as a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise on the opposite corner of this intersection.
Although the plans for the new Starbucks had originally received the city’s imprimatur in December of 2021, it wasn’t until May 17 of this year that the city issued a commercial building permit for the restaurant’s 2,500-square-foot shell.
Since then, workers have made swift progress on the new coffeehouse, which will replace an old Captain D’s restaurant that had formally sat at anchor in the same spot.
