Kathryn “Katie” Robertson Morton, 94, formerly of Graham passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Twin Lakes Community.
A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of John Robertson, Sr. and Mary Scott Robertson, both deceased.
Katie graduated from Altamahaw Ossipee High School and worked in textiles for many years.
Katie continued to work fulltime while raising her three children as a single mother. She was a loving and compassionate mother with a tremendous faith, strength, and will power. She was able to care for her disabled son until he passed at the age of 52 years old.
Katie was a faithful member of Burlington Assembly of God where she loved her church family deeply. She thought highly of Pastor Howard Thompson and Pastor Bryan Rainbow.
Katie enjoyed staying busy while making crafts, painting, decorating her home and planting her flowers. She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music and country music. She loved traveling with family and friends to the North Carolina mountains and beaches. Once Katie was physically unable to attend church, she enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggert services and listening to his music. The last two years living at the Twin Lakes Community, she looked forward to spending time with the other residents while making crafts and playing bingo. She looked forward to her weekly trips to the hair salon, lunch at the Hearth Restaurant, attending Gospel singings in the chapel, shopping at the boutique, admiring the beautiful flowers and landscaping, and watching the birds visit her bird feeders outside of her windows.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty Wall and husband Steve; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Lassiter; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Robin Morton; daughter, Debbie Catlett; two sisters, Shelby Albright and Jessie Yarboro; and three brothers, John Robertson, Jr., Kenneth Robertson, and Jim Robertson. She was affectionately known as Mama Kate to her grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burlington Assembly of God, 821 Tucker Street, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Twin Lakes Community and the Blue Ridge Neighborhood staff for all the wonderful care and attention given to Mrs. Morton.
They would also like to thank Darlene Dawson, Felicia Miles, Rhoda Troxler who alongside Patty assisted her with her daily care. Gratitude is also extended to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice for her final days of care.
While her presence here on earth will be missed, we take comfort knowing that she is healed and in the presence of her loved ones and God.
