Kevin Alan Coombs

Kevin Alan Coombs, 44, of Burlington, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 with his devoted, loving wife by his side. Kevin was born to his late father, Kenneth Coombs and raised by parents Virginia S. and the late A E “Red” Moore.

Kevin graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in 1998. He then joined the US Army and a member of 2nd 82nd Field Artillery Battalion, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas, where he earned The National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Expert Markmanship Qualification badge with grenade bar, Sharpshooter marksmanship qualification badge with rifle bar and other ribbons and pins, Kevin loved his job with the military and spent time deployed in Kuwait. After being discharged from the Army he spent many years working in Oil Fields throughout Texas, most recently as a driller.

Kevin was a very generous man willing to help where needed at a moment’s notice. He was also an amazing story teller and full of one liners and jokes that kept his friends and family fully supplied with laughs. His comical antics, jokes, pranks, and stories will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. Kevin was an extremely talented artist who loved to draw, carve intricate walking canes, and build model cars. He loved to play Dungeons and Dragons and host game nights whenever possible.

Kevin leaves behind his dedicated and adoring wife, Carrie Lynn. He is survived by his Mother, Virginia S. Moore, sisters Tabitha (Jimmy) Riley and Virginia Moore (Steve Hutchens); 2 brothers Steven (Frances) Coombs and Robert (Montanna) Coombs; 2 daughters Jazmyn and Lillyth Coombs, 1 son Nicholas Coombs, one step-son Noah Jorsch and one precious granddaughter Josephine.

His wife would like to graciously thank Kevin’s nurses in the ARMC ICU and Hopebridge for treating him with the utmost dignity and respect during this time.

A visitation service will be held at Rich and Thompson, Burlington on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 10 am followed by a graveside service at Pine Hill Cemetery at 11 am.
