ALAMANCE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
The Alamance County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing during their regular meeting on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 124 W. Elm Street, Graham, NC 27253. The purpose of the hearing will be to entertain certain amendments to Article 6.9 – Subdivision Standards, of the Unified Development Ordinance. All parties interested in attending and/or speaking about the proposed amendments are hereby invited to attend. A copy of the proposed amendments is available for public review by accessing the County Commissioner’s Meetings page at www.Alamance-NC.com. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-271, the Board of Commissioners for the County of Alamance states its intention to authorize the full and fair exchange of certain county-owned property. The exchange involves: (115) Smith and Wesson, MP, caliber .40, version 1, semi-automatic pistols; (57) Smith and Wesson, MP, caliber .40, version 2, semi-automatic pistols; and (9) Smith and Wesson, MP, caliber .40, Shield, semi-automatic pistols with an appraised value of $38,300. The weapons are being exchanged with a Federally Licensed Gun Dealer in return for $38,300 worth of new equipment, specific to law enforcement needs.
Considering that these items are used and are at the end of useful service life, the exchange is considered to benefit the County of Alamance and therefore meets the intent of the statutory requirements for a full and fair exchange. All persons interested in this exchange are invited to attend the meeting of the Board of Commissioners to be held on September 3, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. in the County Commissioners Meeting Room in the County Office Building in Graham, North Carolina. Sealed bids for Street Resurfacing will be received by the City of Mebane in the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina until 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 30, 2024 and then publicly opened and read aloud.
The work will include the following items:
Work consists of milling existing asphalt pavement, full depth patching of existing pavement, utility adjustments, installation of asphalt concrete surface course, and pavement markings.
Plans and specifications are on file for inspection at the City Engineer’s Office, Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building Council Chambers, 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, North Carolina and at the office of the Engineers in Burlington, North Carolina. Blank forms of Proposal, with Specifications and Plans, shall be obtained from Alley, Williams, Carmen & King, Inc. upon request. Minority Business Participation provisions are included in the Bid Documents.
Consideration will be given only to bids of Contractors who submit evidence that they are licensed under “An Act to Regulate the Practice of General Contracting”, ratified by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina on March 10, 1925, and as subsequently amended, when such Act is applicable.
A pre-bid conference is not scheduled for the 2024-2025 Street Repair Contract.
Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a deposit of cash or CERTIFIED CHECK on some bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in an amount equal to not less than five percent (5%) of the Proposal, said check to be made payable to the City of Mebane.
In lieu of the above cash or CERTIFIED CHECK, the bidder may execute a Bid Bond for the same amount.

Indulor America, LP was in significant noncompliance (SNC) with national pretreatment regulations, 40 CFR Part 403, state pretreatment regulations, 15 NCAC 2H .0900, and local pretreatment regulations during the period of January 1, 2024 through June 30, 2024 for Zinc. The City of Burlington issued Indulor America, LP a Notice of Violation for this parameter. No harm was incurred at the receiving East Burlington Wastewater Treatment Plant, and there were no corresponding violations of NPDES permit NC 0023868. A continuing effort is being made by Indulor America, LP to achieve and maintain compliance.
