Proposed Ordinance Amendments to
the City of Burlington
Code of Ordinances Chapters 2, 6, 16 and 36
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the City Council Chambers, located on the upper level of the Municipal Building at 425 S. Lexington Ave., Burlington, NC. The meeting will be recorded and live streamed via YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/COBNC.
The purpose of this public hearing is to receive comments on proposed amendments in Chapters 2 (Administration), 6 (Animals and Fowl), 16 (Junked, Abandoned and Hazardous Motor Vehicles), and 36 (Traffic). City Council will consider and act on the adoption of these proposed amendments at the January 6, 2026, City Council Meeting, effective upon adoption.
The proposed amendments can be viewed in the agenda packet for the December 1, 2025, Work Session at www.BurlingtonNC.gov/councilpacketswhere these amendments were presented to City Council.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO REZONE PROPERTY
The Burlington City Council will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 7:00 PM to consider a request to rezone two parcels of land totaling 13.78 acres from the Highway Business (HB) zoning district to the General Business (GB) zoning district. The properties are located on the eastern side of NC Highway 61 South, across from Konica Drive and south of Interstate NC Highway 85/40. They are addressed as 1201 and 1211 NC Highway 61 South, and consist of Guilford County Tax Identification Numbers 103470 and 106250.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The public will take notice that the City Council of the City of Mebane will hold a public hearing in the Council Chambers of the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building located at 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, NC 27302, on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. to consider the following:
Request to rezone the +/- 1.88-acre property located at 1111 South Fifth Street (GPIN: 9814650719) from R-20 and R-6, Residential Districts, to O&I, Office & Institutional District, by David Rucker.
All persons interested in the above request are invited to attend the public hearing and will be given the opportunity to voice any concerns. The full text of the rezoning request and map of the area proposed to be rezoned are available and can be obtained at the City of Mebane Planning and Zoning Department.
