The City of Mebane
December 11, 2023
The City of Mebane had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our Fieldstone Pump Station, located at 1304 Fieldstone Drive, of approximately 17,400 gallons. The discharge occurred on December 11, 2023, for approximately 1 hour. The untreated wastewater entered an unnamed tributary to Moadams Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. The pump station was repaired and placed back into service by replacement of electrical equipment. This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C. ADVISORY COMMISSION POSITIONS
The City of Mebane requests interested residents apply for three positions on its Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) no later than Friday, January 26, 2024. The City seeks to fill one vacant City position, one vacant Alamance County position, and one open At Large position. Applicants should be experienced and knowledgeable of bicycle and pedestrian matters, including the City of Mebane Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation Plan. The City desires for the BPAC to be representative of Mebane’s many neighborhoods and encourages individuals from across the City to apply. Applicants must reside within City limits or within the Alamance County Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. The BPAC operates as an advisory body to the Mebane City Council and is served by the City’s Planning staff. Current terms expire January 31, 2024, and new members will be appointed to three-year terms by the City Council in February 2024.
