RESOLUTION FIXING DATE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON QUESTION OF ANNEXATION PURSUANT TO
G.S. 160A-31.C
WHEREAS, City Staff received a water and sewer services utility request for 1652 B Lower Hopedale Road, identified as PID 140464, from L/A Development LLC and Artemio Carbajal Hernandez, registered agent for Carbajal Properties, LLC. Said owners purchased the property on June 9, 2023 (BK 4478, PG 0204).
WHEREAS, the property is .74 acres in size, and is zoned Medium Density Residential (MDR) and was created as a result of a Final Plat (Final Plat-23-040) approved on August 2, 2023.
WHEREAS, the applicant is seeking utilities associated with a single-family residential structure, not yet constructed, but which has been approved under a residential building permit (BR-23-705) issued on December 12, 2023.
WHEREAS, a portion of the property is within existing City Limits, however a portion is outside of existing City Limits.
WHEREAS, this is stand-alone voluntary annexation request and is within the City’s purview for consideration. This area is not a distressed area and the City is not required to provide utility extensions.
WHEREAS, the annexation is in accordance with N.C.G.S. 160D-202, Burlington City Code Section 40.40, and the terms of the Annexation Agreement executed by the Applicant on February 29, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlington, North Carolina that:

TAKE NOTICE THAT a Petition to Terminate Parental Rights seeking relief against you has been filed by the Alamance County Department of Social Services in the above-entitled action. The nature of the relief being sought against you is as follows:
To completely and permanently terminate all parental and custodial rights you may have with respect to the above-named female child, born June 18, 2023 in Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina. The juvenile was born to Deanna Laashley Bowe, a black female, approximately 30 years of age.
YOU ARE REQUIRED to answer the petition within 30 days after a date of initial publication, answer shall be filed with the Clerk of Superior Court of Alamance County, attention juvenile clerk. Your parental rights to the juvenile will be terminated upon failure to answer the petition within the time prescribed.
