The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA – Part B, Public Law 108.446) Project is currently being amended. The Project describes the special education programs that the Alamance-Burlington School System proposes for Federal funding for the 2021-2022 school year. Interested persons are encouraged to review amendments to the Project and make comments concerning the implementation of special education under this Federal Program. All comments will be considered prior to submission of the amended Project to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh, North Carolina. The IDEA-Part B Project is open electronically to the public for review and comments during the period of May 17th-24th, 2021. The Board of Alderman for the Village of Alamance will hold a public hearing on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Village of Alamance Town Hall located at 2874 Rob Shepherd Drive, Burlington, NC. RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAHAM TO CONSIDER THE PERMANENT CLOSING OF AN UNCONSTRUCTED ALLEYWAY OFF CLIMAX STREET AND SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING
WHEREAS, the City of Graham has received a petition from an adjoining property owner seeking the permanent closure of an unconstructed alleyway off Climax Street, a public street extending approximately 170 feet that is east of Buckner Street, and was never constructed nor used by the public, as proposed on or before Plat Book 5, Page 82 of the Alamance County Register of Deeds; and
WHEREAS, G.S. 160A-299 authorizes the City Council to close public streets and alleys; and
WHEREAS, the City Council considers it advisable to conduct a public hearing for the purpose of giving consideration to the closing of an alleyway off of Climax Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Graham that:
(1) A meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th day of June, 2021, in the Council Chambers of the Graham City Hall to consider the permanent closing of an alleyway off of Climax Street.
(2) The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish this Resolution of Intent once a week for four successive weeks in The Alamance News, or other newspaper of general circulation in the area.
(3) The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit by registered or certified mail to each property abutting upon said street a copy of this Resolution of Intent.
(4) The City Clerk is further directed to cause adequate notices of this Resolution of Intent and the scheduled public hearing to be posted as required by G.S. 160A-299.
