The Town of Haw River (the “Town”) invites interested firms to submit a sealed Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the following:
Design-Build Contract for building addition and amenities to existing Town of Haw River Fire Station
PROJECT NO. 2024-002
The Town of Haw River (the Town), NC intends to award a Design-Build contract for this Project. Selection of the Design-Build Team will be by a qualifications-based selection process. The responsibility of the Design-Build Team is to deliver the Project on time, on budget, within the criteria and constraints identified in this RFQ, and pursuant to the requirements of Section 143-128.1A, “Design-Build Contracts” of the North Carolina General Statutes, so as to furnish the “best value” to the Town. All Design-Builders responding to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) who satisfies the stated criteria shall be evaluated by the Town of Haw River according to the scoring criteria identified in this Request for Qualifications. The Design-Builders will be ranked, and the Town will begin negotiations with the highest-ranked Design-Builder.
The design and construction services described herein are being procured pursuant to Section 143-128.1A of the North Carolina General Statutes.
All questions and correspondence in conjunction with this solicitation are to be made in writing and should be directed to the Town of Haw River contact identified below (Haw River Town Manager and/or Haw River Fire Chief). Contact with any other Town personnel should not be made and could result in rejection of any related submission.
The requirements for Qualifications including instructions, requirements, and formatting for the RFQ may be secured at the Town of Haw River, 403 East Main Street, Haw River, NC, 27258, by email to stencer@townofhawriver.com and tfranklin@townofhawriver.com, or the town’s website at www.townofhawriver.com under Town Documents/RFQs (right-side).
Firms interested in being considered for selection should respond by submitting one original and three copies of the RFQ in a sealed envelope marked “Haw River Fire Station Design-Build Upgrades” to Town Manager Sean Tencer, Town of Haw River, 403 East Main Street, Haw River, NC 27406 by June 20, 2024, by 5 p.m.
Responses received after the specified due date and time will not be considered.

The Alamance County Manager has submitted the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025 to the Alamance County Board of Commissioners. A public hearing on the proposed budget ordinance will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Historic Courthouse, 2nd floor, at 1 SE Court Square, Graham, NC 27253.

NOTICE is hereby given of the intention of the undersigned to file an application with the Local Government Commission, Raleigh, North Carolina, for its approval of the issuance of the following proposed bonds of the City of Burlington, North Carolina, which bonds shall be subject to the approval of the voters of said City at a referendum:
• $47,000,000 PARKS AND RECREATION BONDS for the purpose of providing funds, together with any other available funds, to acquire, construct and equip various parks and recreational facilities for said City, including, without limitation, expansion and renovation of the Paramount Theater, improvements to the Maynard Aquatics Center and construction of a new multi-sport complex in the western part of said City, and the acquisition of any related land, rights of way and equipment.
• $21,500,000 STREET AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT BONDS for the purpose of providing funds, together with any other available funds, to acquire, construct and equip various street and sidewalk improvements for said City, including, without limitation, street resurfacing, sidewalk improvements and streetscape improvements, and the acquisition of any related land, rights of way and equipment.
Any citizen or taxpayer of the City of Burlington, North Carolina who objects to said bonds in whole or in part may file with the Local Government Commission a statement setting forth his or her objections and containing his or her name and address as provided in Section 159-50 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, in which event such person shall also file a copy of said statement with the undersigned, at any time within seven days from the date of publication of this notice.
