The Town of Haw River (the “Town”) invites interested firms to submit a sealed Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the following:
Design-Build Contract for building addition and amenities to existing Town of Haw River Fire Station
PROJECT NO. 2024-002
The Town of Haw River (the Town), NC intends to award a Design-Build contract for this Project. Selection of the Design-Build Team will be by a qualifications-based selection process. The responsibility of the Design-Build Team is to deliver the Project on time, on budget, within the criteria and constraints identified in this RFQ, and pursuant to the requirements of Section 143-128.1A, “Design-Build Contracts” of the North Carolina General Statutes, so as to furnish the “best value” to the Town. All Design-Builders responding to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) who satisfies the stated criteria shall be evaluated by the Town of Haw River according to the scoring criteria identified in this Request for Qualifications. The Design-Builders will be ranked, and the Town will begin negotiations with the highest-ranked Design-Builder.
The design and construction services described herein are being procured pursuant to Section 143-128.1A of the North Carolina General Statutes.
All questions and correspondence in conjunction with this solicitation are to be made in writing and should be directed to the Town of Haw River contact identified below (Haw River Town Manager and/or Haw River Fire Chief). Contact with any other Town personnel should not be made and could result in rejection of any related submission.
The requirements for Qualifications including instructions, requirements, and formatting for the RFQ may be secured at the Town of Haw River, 403 East Main Street, Haw River, NC, 27258, by email to stencer@townofhawriver.com and tfranklin@townofhawriver.com, or the town’s website at www.townofhawriver.com under Town Documents/RFQs (right-side).
Firms interested in being considered for selection should respond by submitting one original and three copies of the RFQ in a sealed envelope marked “Haw River Fire Station Design-Build Upgrades” to Town Manager Sean Tencer, Town of Haw River, 403 East Main Street, Haw River, NC 27406 by June 20, 2024, by 5 p.m.
Responses received after the specified due date and time will not be considered.

COMMISSION
The Alamance County Historic Properties Commission will hold two public hearings during their regular meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room at 124 W. Elm Street, Graham, NC 27253. The purpose of the hearings will be to gather public input regarding two properties which are eligible for designation as Historic Landmarks within Alamance County. The first property is located at 7955 Mac Lane, Snow Camp in the Newlin Township. The landmark up for designation is known as the Guthrie Mill Dam, which is a grist mill built on Cane Creek in 1873. The second property is located at the corner of Yorkshire Dr. and Brookstone Dr. in the Heritage Glen Subdivision within the Village of Alamance. The landmark up for designation is known as the Oak Grove Slave Cemetery and is believed to be the gravesite of between 14 and 40 formerly enslaved African Americans, dating back to the 19th Century.
