The Planning Board operates as an advisory body to the Mebane City Council and is served by the City’s Planning staff. The term of service will last through June 2023. The public will take notice that the City of Mebane City Council will hold a legislative public hearing in the Council Chambers of the Glendel Stephenson Municipal Building located at 106 E. Washington Street, Mebane, on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to consider the following:
Proposed Text Amendments to the City of Mebane Unified Development Ordinance, Article 4 (“Use Regulations, Density, and Dimensional Standards”) to allow multifamily, townhouse, and condominium residential uses and eliminate the minimum setback requirements in the B-1 Central Business District by Frank Ascott of TRG Capital, LLC.
As Council meetings transition from virtual meetings to in-person meetings, citizens can provide comments via the following two (3) options:
• Written comments submitted by email to be read aloud by Clerk
• Conference Telephone
• In-person attendance in accordance with City Council Meeting Guidelines.

One-stop early voting will be open from Thursday, October 14, 2021 and ends Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. Operational hours will be 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday beginning on Thursday, October 14 and ending on Saturday, October 30 with operational hours of 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The polling site will also be open on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Canvass will be held in the Alamance County Board of Elections office at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.
Absentee voting by mail is available. Requests for an absentee ballot must be made on an absentee request form (available on the State Board of Elections website and at the county board of elections office), and must be received in the Alamance County Board of Elections office by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Completed request forms may only be returned in-person to the Alamance County Board of Elections office by the voter, the voter’s near relative or verifiable legal guardian, or by a Multi-partisan Assistance Team, or delivered by the U.S. Postal Service or designated delivery service (DHL, FedEx, or UPS). Absentee voting requires the voter to complete an application on the return envelope that must be witnessed by two qualified persons or a notary public. Completed absentee ballots must be returned to the Alamance County Board of Elections on or before Tuesday, November 2, 2021 5:00 p.m. on Election Day (ballots received by mail after this time will be timely if received within three business days and postmarked by Election Day). Voters may receive assistance voting a mail-in absentee ballot from a near relative or verifiable legal guardian, or by a qualified person of their choice if a near relative or legal guardian is not available. If the voter lives in a facility such as a nursing home, and the voter’s near relative or legal guardian is not available, the voter or the facility can arrange to have the county board of elections schedule a visit by a Multi-partisan Assistance Team to provide assistance and serve as witnesses.
Voters voting in person are entitled to assistance by an election official, or, if assistance is needed due to disability or illiteracy, by a qualified person of their choice. Voting sites are accessible to all voters. Curbside voting is available for voters who are not able to enter voting sites due to age or physical disability.
All persons who live in the municipality and who are registered to vote with the Alamance Board of Elections may vote in this election. Persons who are not already registered to vote in the county must register by Friday, October 8, 2021 5:00 p.m. to be eligible to vote in this election. Voters who are not registered in the county by that deadline may register and vote during one-stop early voting only and will be required to provide documentation of their identity and residence. Voters who fail to timely make a change in name or address in the county must update the information when presenting to vote, and may be required to vote a provisional ballot.

On or about November 1, 2019, Plaintiff extended a line of credit to Defendant subject to the Consumer Lending Plan and under that certain Truth-in-Lending Disclosure Statement – Line of Credit wherein Defendant failed to make payments when due. After providing credits due to Defendant, Defendant owes Plaintiff no less than $563.91 plus accrued interest at the rate of $0.24 per day from and after December 2, 2020 until the date of judgment and thereafter at the maximum legal rate until paid and attorneys fees pursuant to the Consumer Lending Plan, the LOC and the LOC Note, as defined in the Complaint and N.C. Gen. Stat. § 6-21.2, in the amount of $84.59, which is 15% of the amount due under the Consumer Lending plan, the LOC and the LOC Note.

PLAINTIFF, complaining of the Defendant, alleges and says the following:
1. That the Plaintiff is a citizen and resident of Alamance County, North Carolina.
2. That the Defendant is a citizen and a resident of Orange.
3. Plaintiff and Defendant have been residents of the State of North Carolina for more than six months prior to the commencement of this action.
4. That the Plaintiff and Defendant were married on 04/18/2006 in Graham, NC.
5. The parties separated on 11/23/2009 with the intention that the separation be permanent.
6. The parties have lived continuously separate and apart for at least one year and one day prior to the filing of this Complaint and at no time have they resumed the marital relationship that formerly existed between them.
7. The parties have no minor or legally dependent children and Wife is not currently pregnant.
8. Both parties are over the age of 18 years and competent.
9. Plaintiff is not an active duty member of the U.S. military. Defendant is not an active duty member of the U.S. military.
10. That the Plaintiff acknowledges that in order to preserve his/her rights to equitable distribution, spousal support and/or alimony, such claim(s) must be asserted by one or both parties before the Judgment of Absolute Divorce is entered by the Court. That there are no issues of alimony or equitable distribution pending between the parties.
WHEREFORE, the Plaintiff prays the Court:
1. That the Plaintiff, Hampton D. Miles, be granted an absolute divorce from Defendant, Cassandra D. Miles, and that the marriage existing between the parties be dissolved.
2. That the Plaintiff be granted such other and further relief as the Court may deem just and proper.
Defendant is notified to appear and answer the complaint of the Plaintiff as follows:
1. Serve a copy of your written answer to the complaint upon the Plaintiff or Plaintiff’s attorney within thirty (30) days after you have been served. You may serve your answer by delivering a copy to the Plaintiff or by mailing it to the Plaintiff’s last known address, and
2. File the original of the written answer with the Clerk of Superior Court of Alamance County.
If you fail to answer the complaint, the Plaintiff will apply to the Court for the relief demanded in the complaint.
