A famous Alamance County cook is going to be on television this weekend, part of a guest on Guy Fieri’s program Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives which will air on the Food Network Friday night at 9:00 p.m.

Marie Koury of Elon is a well-known local cook, who has assembled a variety of cookbooks for various local organizations over a lifetime of cooking. At 97, she’s still often in the kitchen.

Fieri’s program includes a look at a Cody, Wyoming restaurant Sitti’s Table, run by Koury’s granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Porter Koury and Jake Scott. The name “Sitti” is Arabic for grandmother, named in Marie Koury’s honor. Marie Koury flew to Cody for the original interview with Fieri.
