An area resident has been arrested for the sexual exploitation of a child after he allegedly posted a number of inappropriate items online.
James Hadley Lynch was taken into custody on Tuesday based on an inquiry that the office of Alamance County’s sheriff launched four days earlier when it discovered that someone in the county had uploaded “child sexual abuse material” to the Internet.
According to the sheriff’s office, Lynch was arrested following a raid on his home at 3140 Firefly Court on the outskirts of Mebane. The 35-year-old white male currently faces six counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor based on the results of this search.
A registered sex offender, he is also accused of failing to notify the authorities about new or revised online identifiers that he had been using.
Lynch has been placed under an $85,000 bond since his arrest.
