Mebane’s mayor and two council members were sworn in for their four-year terms earlier this month at the city council’s December 4 meeting.
All were unopposed in the November election.
Attorney Keisha Bluford, who lives in Mebane and serves as chairman on the city’s Racial Equity Advisory Committee, swore in Sean Ewing, who was reelected. City clerk Stephanie Shaw swore in mayor Ed Hooks and council member Katie Burkholder, who had been appointed to the council in 2022 after then-council member Patty Philipps moved to the coast.
Shaw also swore in long-time councilman Tim Bradley to another term as the council’s mayor pro tem, who presides in the absence of the mayor.
