Police seek suspect in Mon. morning robbery of Burlington convenience store

Police in Burlington are looking for a man who held up an area convenience store in the small hours of Monday morning (April 26).

According to the city’s police department, the suspect in this case robbed a location of Cruizers at 728 North Church Street shortly after 2:00 a.m. He reportedly made off with an unspecified amount of cash after he brandished a weapon at the convenience store’s clerk.

Described as a 29-to-35-year-old black male with a slender-to-medium build and a height between 5-feet-6 and 5-feet-8 inches, the culprit was reportedly wearing a black vest over a grey hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants during the robbery. To aid with identification, the police department has released surveillance stills of the man from the convenience store’s security cameras.

Police urge anyone with information about this case to contact the department at 336-229-3500 or call Crime Stoppers at 336-229-7100 to leave an anonymous tip.
