Work begins on new warehouse near Whitsett’s town limits

Categories:

There’s apparently still space available in a new warehouse that’s currently in the works at the Rock Creek Center on the outskirts of Whitsett.

The brainchild of Georgia-based Cushman & Wakefield, this new facility is slated to go up next to Zink Imaging near the southwest corner of the interstate interchange for NC 61.
This project has been under development ever since the sale of its 46.5-acre site, which changed hands last August for a sum of nearly $4.7 million.

On February 22, Guilford County signed off on a site plan that envisions a new warehouse with 475,935 square feet of floor space in this location.

Since then, the county has also issued a grading permit for the warehouse’s proposed grounds, while the construction plans for the building were still under review some three weeks ago.

Savannah Durban, a spokeswoman for Cushman & Wakefield, has informed The Alamance News that her company expects the new building to be complete in the third quarter of 2021.

“So far,” Durban added in a recent email, “no tenants have been secured for the building.”
