Categories:

Students at three elementary schools were sent home early Monday morning due to power outages at those schools.

With just 15 minutes notice, at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Alamance-Burlington school system officials announced that students at the three elementary schools – Pleasant Grove, Smith, and Sylvan – would be dismissed early, at 10:30 a.m.

ABSS elementary schools typically operate from 7:50 a.m. until 2:35 p.m. on school days, under the academic calendar for the current 2021-22 school year.

Early dismissals had not been announced for other ABSS schools by lunchtime Wednesday.
